Food packaging bags vary in dimensions, thickness, layers and print, and they are used for consumer goods such as pasta, vegetables, nuts, fried coffee, teas, spices and the like.
The composition and thickness of the foil used to make the packing bag is chosen with regard to the food that will be contained therein and the storage needs of the particular food. These are generally DUPLEX or TRIPLEX sandwich foils, 55 to 125 microns thick, while foods such as salad and bakery products require mono-layer MONO foils, which are thinner, 30 to 50 microns thick, to preserve freshness.
